The LeanKanban University Accredited Kanban Trainer program and Kanban Coaching Professional program work to endorse only the best Kanban professionals with the greatest Kanban-specific knowledge and experience.

These rigorous programs assure that the best Kanban professionals represent LKU worldwide. The LKU professional development program also assists those trying to become trainers or coaches if they need additional mentoring, co-training, or instruction.
LKU Accredited Kanban Trainer (AKT) program
Accredited Kanban Trainers and their organizations can offer LeanKanban University Certified Kanban Training classes. The LKU Accredited Kanban TrainingTM program has requirements on 3 levels that must be met in order to offer certified training: the organization, the trainer, and the training materials.
AKTs can offer Certified Kanban Training, after which LeanKanban University will issue a Certificate of Completion for their accredited class.
Accredited Kanban Trainers will be listed on the LeanKanban University trainers directory.
Scheduled classes taught by Accredited Kanban Trainers will be listed on the edu.leankanban.com website and promoted by LKU in social media.
Alumni of Certified Kanban Training classes taught by AKT's will be listed on the LeanKanban University website. They will have member-only access to the website.
Add the "AKT" professional designation after their names.
Digital Accredited Kanban Trainer badges for use on websites and in printed material.
Access to exclusive industry events every year
Access to private website content and functionality only for AKTs.
AKT Applicant Requirements:
Application for the organization and for the trainer(s)
Education requirement for each trainer including attending a 5-day LKU Train the Trainer course
Approval by the LKU Accredited Kanban Trainer advisory board
Payment of an annual membership fee
Payment of per-student certificate fees
LKU Kanban Coaching Professional (KCP) program
The Kanban Coaching ProfessionalTM program offers a professional designation for people coaching Kanban for organizations. The coaches may be embedded within organizations or they may be independent consultants.
Kanban Coaching Professionals will be listed on the LeanKanban University coaches directory.
Add the "KCP" professional designation after their names.
Digital Kanban Coaching Professional badges for use on websites and in printed material.
Access to exclusive industry events every year including the "Ask a KCP" coaching sessions at Lean Kanban conferences worldwide.
Access to private website content and functionality only for KCPs.
KCP Applicant Requirements
Applicants are not automatically accepted into the Kanban Coaching Professional (KCP) program. Requirements for membership in this program include:
Completion of a 5-day Advanced Kanban Masterclass;
Application showing proven field experience working with Kanban in one or more organizations;
Written essay describing a Kanban case study in which the applicant has participated;
Submit to a peer review approval process by the LKU Kanban Coaching Professional program Advisory Board;
Payment of an annual membership fee
To maintain their status, KCP’s will be expected to play an active role in the Kanban community. Specific addiitional requirements will be advised via the Advisory Board from time to time.
Advanced Kanban Masterclasses are offered in locations around the world several times a year. Currently these classes are only offered by David J. Anderson and Associates.
